HANDS – Human And Natural Resources Development Society is a key implementing partner of HIV/AIDS Targeted Intervention (TI) programs in Ananthapuramu, Kurnool, and Nandyala districts of Andhra Pradesh, implemented under the NACO framework with technical and financial support from APSACS. The program focuses on preventing HIV transmission among High-Risk Groups (HRGs), including Female Sex Workers (FSWs), Men who have Sex with Men (MSM), and Transgender (TG)/Hijra individuals, while also extending preventive services to Migrants and Truckers as the bridge population. During 2024–25, HANDS implemented four TI units across 206 hotspots, reaching 7,055 individuals, comprising 4,544 FSWs, 948 MSM, and 129 TG individuals across Gooty, Pathikonda, Dhone, and Nandikotkur. Key services delivered included the distribution of 24,16,935 condoms, 27,658 Reproductive and Medical Care services, 13,827 ICTC HIV tests, and ART and PLHA support for 1,128 beneficiaries, contributing to community-led HIV prevention, early detection, and sustained linkage to care in line with national efforts to end AIDS as a public health threat.
