
HANDS, in collaboration with Say Trees Environmental Trust and with support from ReNew, successfully organized the Inaugural Plantation Ceremony of the Agroforestry Program 2024–25 on 14th August 2024 at ZP High School, Malakathalla, Pedda Vadugur Mandal, Ananthapuramu District.
The program was inaugurated by Hon’ble MLA Sri Asmithareddy (Tadapathri Constituency) in the presence of representatives from Say Trees, Forest Department, HANDS team, and 320 participating farmers. The event marked the launch of a 20-year Agroforestry Carbon Credit Project, targeting the plantation of 5 lakh saplings during 2024–25.
Speakers highlighted the importance of agroforestry for sustainable agriculture, climate action, and enhanced farmer livelihoods. Farmers shared their experiences and interacted with experts on plantation models and support systems.
The event reinforced strong collaboration between farmers, government departments, and partner organizations towards long-term environmental and economic sustainability.
