In the drought-prone village of Pulakunta, 13 farmer families were struggling with failed borewells and severe water scarcity. With support from SayTrees Environmental Trust and Infosys, the farmers joined the Agroforestry Carbon Program to revive their mango and timber plantations.
Through collective effort, the community constructed a 1.5-kilometre irrigation pipeline from the Handri-Neeva sub-canal, providing assured water supply to 32.5 acres of farmland. This intervention has significantly strengthened plantation survival and farm resilience.
On 8th May 2025, the village marked the completion of the project with a traditional puja, celebrating renewed hope, unity, and sustainable progress. The irrigation pipeline stands as a symbol of community cooperation, climate action, and a better future for Pulakunta’s farmers.
