HANDS, with support from SayTrees Environmental Trust, organized a one-day orientation on 6th May 2025 at Gooty for the REDS field team to strengthen their understanding of agroforestry carbon project implementation. The program included a field visit to agroforestry plantations in Abbeddi and Pulakunta villages, highlighting mango and sweet lime models. A key takeaway was the community-managed irrigation system in Pulakunta, supporting 32.5 acres of mango plantation without borewells, identified as a replicable best practice. The technical session covered the carbon project workflow, farmer and land selection, KML mapping, plantation design, and post-plantation management. The orientation enhanced coordination among REDS, SayTrees, and HANDS and prepared REDS to initiate field activities.
